DISCLAIMER: Medication is only one form of treatment, and is never the sole answer to management of ADHD symptoms… as you can see from my messy room
Why does the majority of ADD-related news and content found on the web loudly declare that ADHD is a non-existent condition and that medication prescribed for it is merely an excuse to turn individuals into compliant robots?
Because it sells. Hear the point of view of someone who actually lives with ADD and has taken the same dose of medication for 4+ years. I had to have the radio on in the background, otherwise housemates would have heard, so I’m not as well-spoken as usual

Great Vid
. Completely agree with nearly all of what your saying about the sensationalistic nature of most of the vids, and media reports about ADHD.
It’s rather sad to see people preying on others fears in that fashion, and scares me to think if people who did have ADHD would see them and disregard trying medication as a result
.
Ironically I had a similar experience to you with Ritalin and Dexedrine. I’m just glad I didn’t give into the hysteria and actually asked to try something else!.

Great video!
Everyone is different, and just as there are different types of ADHD, there are different degrees of those types. Some are worse than others. Trying to get someone to understand ADHD can be hard, but until someone HAS walked in your shoes, they just can’t comprehend that the quality of your life suffers when you don’t take your meds.
I tried doing without them for 15 yrs and I only had control of a very small circle of my life, while the rest of it suffered. Now, I have my life back.
